DESIGNER
The Designer supports the Principals in the creation of a project's comprehensive interiors scheme, involving the coordination of interior architecture, programming, space planning, FF&E and color/materials. The Designer contributes to the creative, technical, budgetary, operational, and design coordination accountability for all facets of the interior FF&E package.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Involvement in all phases of the design process including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and knowledge of construction administration.

Responsible for all working drawings, including hand and computer generated plans, cabinetry, and millwork details, lighting, and electrical plans.

Develop furniture plans and provide fully illustrative and correctly scaled drawings on architectural backgrounds to Project Architects for incorporation into design document set. Label all fixture and furniture plans on drawings for Project Architect with FF&E specification numbers and furniture schedules.

Conduct product research and determine project design options, including collecting furniture literature, finishes and materials samples.

Direct outside consultants, vendors, product reps, and fabricators, as required, to develop and implement design projects.

Manage furniture installations and small interior refurbishment projects.

Oversee scheduling and ordering, installation and maintenance of projects.

Prepare and manage all aspects of FF&E Purchasing, including requests for Vendor Quotes and development of Client Proposals.

Development of FF&E selections, including specifications of products and materials.

Coordination with other team members for presentation to clients and space planning concepts.

Close collaboration with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors, in order to assist with project management and overall design of the project.

Review pricing, materials and customization for projects and provides design support for completion/execution of design concepts.

Research creative resources, ideas, historical precedent, materials, furnishings, fixtures, and finishes, to ensure that the best possible creative solutions and innovations are continually researched, reviewed, and incorporated.

Provide all finish call-outs and specification information to Project Architect in the form of fully coordinated designations on all architectural backgrounds and material schedules, including finishes, hardware, fixtures, accessories, and artwork.

Assist Principals with the preparation of internal design, documentation schedules, and deliverable guidelines to ensure that all contractual objectives are fulfilled on time and on budget.

Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
4+ years of experience as an interior designer, with a focus on residential interiors.

Strong knowledge of the design process, including FF&E, architectural materials and resources.

Outstanding graphic presentation skills.

Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Knowledge of Studio Designer preferred, but not required.

Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development.

Ability to work well in a team environment and initiative to be a proactive self-starter.

Attention to detail and ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.

Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills.

Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree, or higher, in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school.
