As co-founder of Studio Gild, Melissa Benham brings a well-cultivated approach to the interior design process through conceptually driven and expertly curated residential and commercial spaces. Motivated to create a rich, visual narrative for each project, she embraces a collaborative process to conceive uniquely compelling environments that deliver an authentic reflection of her clients.
Benham began her career in New York designing retail and hospitality spaces for world-class brands Ralph Lauren, André Balazs Properties, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, for whom she completed projects across the globe from North America to Europe and Asia. After a decade of honing a sartorial eye amidst New York’s creative energy and spark, Benham joined the ranks of esteemed residential firms in Chicago where she further refined her talent for developing captivating, tailored spaces. Benham ultimately put down roots in her beloved home state of California and is now based in Los Angeles where she serves as Principal of Melissa Benham | Studio Gild.
Benham holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and an Associate of Applied Arts in Interior Design from Parsons School for Design. Prior to receiving her degrees, she studied interior design and photography at Richmond American University London. Benham is also accredited as a LEED Green Associate.
