SENIOR DESIGNER
The Senior Designer is responsible for collaborating with the Principals in the creation of a project's comprehensive interiors scheme, involving the coordination of interior architecture, programming, space planning, and material selections. The Senior Designer is the team lead for the design, selection and specification of all FF&E [furnishings, finishes and accessories] and is responsible for the design and technical coordination for all facets of the interior design package.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with the Principals in the initial conceptual development of a project’s theme, character, design vocabulary, character and mood.

Research creative resources, ideas, historical precedent, materials, furnishings, and finishes, to ensure that the most innovative solutions are continually implemented.

Prepare design presentations for both internal and external review.

Assist Principals with development of project budgets, project schedules and weekly status reports to ensure deliverable guidelines are fulfilled on time and on budget.

Responsible for all working drawings, including hand and computer-generated plans, interior elevations, custom furniture, millwork details and electrical plans.

Provide all finish call-outs and specification information to project team in the form of fully coordinated designations on all architectural backgrounds and material schedules, including finishes, hardware, fixtures and equipment.

Provide direction to outside consultants [vendors, reps and fabricators] to develop and implement design intent.

Proactively plan all FF&E deliverables, throughout the design and coordination process, and keep Principals updated through ongoing weekly status reports.

Manage design team to conduct all aspects of FF&E purchasing, including vendor quotes, client proposals, purchase orders and expediting.

Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.

Manage internship program, including interview process and day-to-day coordination of intern workload and responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
7+ years of experience as an interior designer and/or senior interior designer, with a focus on residential interiors. Knowledge of commercial interior design process is a plus.

Strong knowledge of the comprehensive design process [Schematic Design, Design Development, FF&E, Construction Documents, Construction Administration and Onsite Installation]

Outstanding graphic presentation skills with strong knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Outstanding technical skills with strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Studio Designer

Ability to focus on multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development

Ability to work well in a team environment

Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly

Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills

Associates degree, or higher, in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school
