Nestled among the rollings hills of upstate New York sits an 1890s carriage house that delivered the perfect dual living space for Kristen Ekeland's mother-daughter clients. Serving as a permanent residence for the former and a weekend retreat for the latter, the historic home required a functional refurbishment that preserved its original character while integrating modern comforts. After completion, Ekeland's team furnished the space with pieces sourced from local artists in the nearby Hudson Valley design district, paying homage to the rich artistic heritage of the surrounding region.
